Buy an E90 Cup car that is ready to race. Write the check (do they still have those these days?!) and run it with a team or start your own team.

Buy an E90 Cup car shell with a roll cage from CageKits that is already installed. You can build the rest in your shop or garage. By doing most of the labor, you will save money and can race the car with an existing team or start your own team.

Why go though the hassle of owning a car when you can just rent one from an existing team. All you have to do is show up and drive. The team does all of the work, in most cases. Usually that means that the team will prepare the car, have it ready to go at the track, and provide crew and service during the weekend.

This could be the most affordable way to go because you are doing all of the work. But if you have some basic knowledge, it could be a great way to learn.
